What is a Smartlift Quick Recovery Facelift?

The SmartLift™ Weekend Facelift is a new type of facelift technique which creates a youthful jaw line and a smooth neck. The need for a cutting edge method that requires minimal downtime and more natural results when compared to a traditional facelift has existed for years. The aging process has been well studied over the centuries. Every age has brought countless creams, lotions, gels and awkward procedures in order to rejuvenate and revitalize the face. The smartlift comes the closest to giving subtle, natural results. Dr Prasad uses an artistic approach to naturally preserve the unique character of each face.

How is it different from a traditional facelift?

Many people hesitate to get a facelift because they worry about looking "too pulled" or "too catwoman " after surgery. In addition, plastic surgery reality shows present facelifts that require hospitalization, general anesthesia, and long and painful healing periods. Typically, the traditional facelift requires more than 4 hours to perform and 4 weeks for healing. It also requires extensive bandages and dangling drains. The widespread bruising and swelling make it uncomfortable for many people to leave their homes for weeks.

In today's world, people want a younger looking face but don't want to take significant time away from their busy schedule. Most people lead very active lives and are reluctant to sit at home and wait for weeks until their face heals. Also, they want a natural appearance that doesn't look "plastic" or "startled".

How does the Smartlift Quick Recovery Facelifts compare to other "alternative" mini-facelifts?

There are many other facelifts available that claim to be convenient, in-office procedures and an improvement on the traditional facelift. The Threadlift or the Featherlift involves using specialized "threads" with cogs in them that are inserted under the skin, catch on the muscle and are then fastened upwards in an inconspicuous space.

Other mini facelifts appear similar to the Smartlift in that they involves local anesthesia and are performed in the office. They do not accomplish a true face lift but make small changes of the jaw line and do not address the problem of loose neck folds.  The Smartlift involves more extensive surgery of the muscles and soft tissue so that the lift is more effective and a smoother jaw line and neck are achieved in most cases.

Other quick recovery facelifts are easy to learn procedures that are practiced widely. The business plan involves training new graduate doctors to perform the surgery. These doctors improve with more practice. Typically, the initial consultation is done by a "coordinator" who does not have medical training. In contrast, the Smartlift Quick Recovery Facelift was developed by Dr. Amiya Prasad based on his comprehensive experience with many types of facelifts. Over years of careful observations of his patients, he crafted a technique which has become the most effective facelift procedure to yield natural, youthful results while preserving the inherent beauty of an individual's facial features. When a consultation is sought with Dr. Amiya Prasad, they meet with him on the very first appointment.

When can I go back to work?

Most patients are able to return to their normal routine in approximately one week.

What kind of results can I expect?

Take a look at the before and after pictures below and in the gallery. Most of our patients comment that they are surprised at how natural the results are. They say that they look fresher and more energized.

How long does it take to get results? How long do the results last?

The results of the Smartlift Quick Recovery Facelift are noticeable about one to two days after the procedure. In some cases, results may take longer to achieve due to swelling immediately after the surgery. The duration of the results are variable and are highly dependent on the individual. If the patient has a healthy lifestyle, follows a good diet, exercises regularly and refrains from cigarette smoking and excessive alcohol, the results can last for about 10 years.

How much does the procedure cost?

The cost varies according to the approach that the Dr. Prasad takes and the amount of surgery that is necessary. Some people need minimal surgery while others need more extensive surgery. Generally, the optimal procedure is determined upon consultation with Dr. Prasad.

Can it be combined with other procedures?

Many of our patients lead active lifestyles and find that they have very little time for healing and recovery. For their convenience, we have developed the Smartlift Quick Recovery Package . This combines the SmartLift Facelift and the Smartlift Eyelift so that total facial rejuvenation is accomplished as well. We have not observed any disadvantages or diminishing of results from this approach. Other customized services that are sometimes added to the SmartLift include chemical peels or laser skin resurfacing .

How do I know if I am a candidate for a Smartlift Quick Recovery Facelift?

The best candidate is a person who takes good care of his health, is not tremendously overweight and does not suffer from chronic medical conditions. People on certain medications may not be able to have the surgery as well. Also, a person should have realistic expectations about what they hope to achieve with the procedure. For example a woman in her 50's with loose jowls and numerous folds on her neck should not expect to get the face of her 20's. A more reasonable goal would be to look more relaxed and refreshed and gain a better profile.  Most people find that coming to see Dr. Prasad for a consultation helps them to understand if they are well suited for the procedure.

Summary of Smartlift Characteristics

Smartlift vs. Traditional facelift

Smartlift leaves a much smaller scar. The lift pulls upwards instead of back which gives a more youthful look. The procedure takes approximately 1-3 hours as opposed to 4-5 hours.

Smartlift Facelift vs. Other quick recovery facelifts

The "factory style" facelift does not restore your natural jaw line nor address the loose skin folds on your neck. It is an easily reproducible procedure and is practiced widely. The experience, quality and results vary according to who performs it. The technique is too limited and the results cannot last as long.

Unique features of the SmartLift Facelift

A Smartlift facelift will restore your natural jaw line, and eliminate sagging jowls and loose skin folds about the neck. The scar is minimal.

Anesthesia

Local Anesthesia with mild IV sedation, if required.

Downtime

Usually 1 week before returning to work.

Results

Natural appearing jaw line and smooth neck. A youthful appearance that is natural and attractive.

Location of scar

The scar is customized based on the extent of surgery. It is usually smaller than a traditional facelift.

Risks

Minimal because of local anesthesia. People with certain chronic diseases may not be candidates for the procedure.

  Benefit

A youthful appearance gives you a new outlook
